The Mentorship
This mentorship is currently not offered in person. Join us for 6 Weeks of connection, case studies, and trauma-informed approaches with a focus on the communities you serve. This Mentorship is an opportunity for people to come together for a common goal; to expand your yoga and somatic (body & movement) toolkit through online engagement, specific topic lectures, case study evaluation, question and answer sessions, wisdom and experience sharing, to continue to bring best practices into the field of trauma-informed yoga and embodied approaches. Here we will be discussing challenges and reflecting on past learning and teaching experiences to gain more insight into expanding your role and your skills as a facilitator for communities and individuals impacted by substance abuse and addiction, body dysphoria, homelessness, domestic abuse, oppression, and marginalization. A supported approach to exploring modern and traditional methods of restorative movement-based practices from two professionals who have years of experience to share and offer. Join us to begin the conversation around the complexity of symptoms of trauma and the trauma-informed methods that offer the opportunity for expansion and safety in every body.

This Mentorship expects a familiarity with yoga practice, however, being a yoga instructor is NOT a prerequisite to attend. This mentorship does not qualify you to teach yoga classes or programs. To do so, you will need to complete a 200hr Foundational Yoga Certification (stay tuned for enrollment in The Self Agency Academy/Legacy Motion’s 300hr Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Training in September 2021). This mentorship will assist you in integrating embodied and movement-based practices into your current and future work. Mentorship hours can be documented for professional development and learning goals. To receive a Certificate of Completion you must complete live attendance at a minimum of 100% of the live Breakout Sessions, plus complete all relevant learning activities and reflections by the due date. If a Breakout Session is missed, a recording will be provided and additional reflection must be turned in by the due date stated. This is to not only support your own learning, engagement and integration but to also build a sense of community and deep learning for embodied social change. All live sessions will be recorded and downloadable and available for 10 days after the course has finished.
Investment

Equity in Investment - Choosing your tier
We are committed to offering trainings that are of the highest quality, affordable and accessible while striving to keep equity and mutual exchange at the soul of how we serve.
We recognize that we live in systems of inequity and we strive to find ways of finding balance within this. We feel that the deepest engagement and greatest benefit comes when there is a meaningful mutual exchange.
For these reasons, we offer tiered pricing. There is an invitation to reflect on your access to resources and privilege, the value of this work, what you can genuinely afford, and what you might pay for comparable training programs. By committing to what is truly within your means you make it possible for others to show up within theirs and we are all grateful for this.
All prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD)
TIER 1: $250 – For those who are financially well-resourced. Reflects the value of the course in Western economic markets.
TIER 2: $220 – For those on medium incomes and access to financial resources.
TIER 3: $190 – For those on low incomes, caring responsibilities and from marginalized communities.

Scholarships
In addition to our tiered pricing, we also have scholarships available for: 1) People from non-western / low-economy countries and financially marginalized communities, who otherwise would be unable to access a training such as this. 2) People experiencing serious personal / financial hardship. To apply for a scholarship please complete our scholarship application form. Applications close Monday 18th January. Currently, this mentorship is not offered in person and has limited space online. However, if space is full upon registration you will be offered additional date options.
